Moxa's industrial Ethernet Fieldbus gateways are simple and reliable solutions that connect industrial plant serial devices to Ethernet

networks. Moxa’s gateways support multiple connections and many different Ethernet protocols, including Modbus/TCP and EtherNet/IP.

Use ProCOM to Implement Control via COM

Port Mapping and Generate Four Additional

Virtual Serial Channels

Most host software uses COM ports as a control interface.

The MGate™, however, is much more than just a device server

and provides a COM mapping function while also retaining

serial protocol connection capability, which is called ProCOM.

The MGate™ supports Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista, and

provides COM port mapping control of device servers and

Modbus/DF1 behavior compatibility of gateways. Moxa’s

MB3170/MB3270/EIP3170/EIP3270 gateways include the

ProCOM functionality and support four virtual serial ports for

remote control over an Ethernet connection.

Wired and Wireless Modbus Solutions

A SMG-6100 secure VPN communication platform at

the control center can add wireless connectivity

to the Modbus gateways at the plant oor, giving

operators exceptional exibility in creating their

Modbus communications network. At the plant oor,

the SMG-1100 gateway can transmit device data

remotely via GPRS/EDGE cellular communications. For

wired links, the MGate MB3000 reduces deployment

time and wiring costs with useful features such

as cascade wiring, serial redirector, and ProCOM

support. All network trafc activity can be monitored

and managed using the MGate Manager monitoring

tool, which simplies system administration and

troubleshooting.
